Ashton Chatelain of “Hints of Emergence Tenkara has submitted a good entry to the Tenkara Summit Video Contest. Sure, it is taking a slight jab at the pointless “what is tenkara?” discussions, and perhaps even a light-hearted jab at us, but as I once read somewhere, “those who don’t laugh at themselves leave the job to others.”

Hilarious, Ashton! BTW, it’s good to see Timp in the background. AF canyon? I need to get back down there and fish.

How did he get a hold of our new prototypes so fast?
I had a chuckle also but saw it before it was posted here. I was not sure it was an entry back then and was not 100% sure how to take it. Free Speech though so whatever toots your horn, then blow it by golly.
I think we all know man can catch fish without all the high-end gear. Heck I caught my first first in the early 1970s with a stick, string, and a fly I killed and strung on a hook. Little did I know this would become a passion in my later years for Fly Fishing.
Of course I much prefer a 20″ closed telescopic rod that is ultralite so I think I will stick with my Tenkara USA rods for now. 😎
Nice video and thanks for the entry. Best of luck to the creator of the vid.
