    Best meal I ever had was a brace of late season, high country brookies, with about 2 pounds of fresh chanterelles found along the trail back to the truck, just between dusk and really dark. Washed it all down with a nice German riesling.

    Great video but he should have cut the mushroom rather than pulling it from the ground. Cutting the “fruiting” body ensures you don’t damage the mycelium under the surface making it likely more mushrooms can pop up at another time. This is mushroom hunting ethic akin to catch and release for trout.
