Tying the Amano Kebari

Mr. Katsutoshi Amano is one of the most renowned tenkara anglers in Japan and one of our teachers. The Amano kebari, or amano tenkara fly, is notorious in its simplicity but also the philosophy it represents. Mr. Amano uses only one tenkara fly pattern, his box is filled with flies of identical size and color. He primarily fishes the fly by pulsating the flies 1, 2, 3, 4 times and then recasting. In this video Mr. Amano shows us how he ties his flies without a vise.
