Tenkara and mountain biking may just be a perfect combo. When Tenkara USA founder, Daniel Galhardo, decided to go for a ride outside of Boulder, Colorado, he put the tenkara rod, line and flies in his pack, just in case he came across some good water. The rivers were blown out, but having a rod in the pack wet his appetite to catch a fish, so on the way home he rode by a pond.
If you’re going biking, bring a rod along. That’s the idea behind TENKARA+

Really great to see this post. Over the last 6 months I have been assembling my bike camping kit; had everything I need for multiple days out, but one last element was.missing.
Today, I am happy to report that I picked up an Iwana from a local dealer. So looking forward to biking, camping and fishing during what looks to be an amazing Autumn here in the N. East.

I highly suggest Tenkara + Biking in the beautiful Black Hills of SD on the Mickelson Trail! The Mickelson just got voted the best non-car path trail by Bicycle Magazine. Plus, the fishing is amazing along the trail! Plan a trip to the Black Hills and stay in the Historic town of Deadwood!
Hi Thanks for the video. This is a combo I’m interested in though the thought of walking around a river in clipless shoes doesn’t grab me. I’m noticing with the saturation of devices any time a person lists a site the public can go there easily with gps, thus overwhelming it. I suggest that you omit specifics and list regions instead on your site and let people just find stuff. This is happening too frequently here in Taiwan ROC.
