Pause-and-drift technique and landing

There was another fish rising about 10ft below where this fish was taken, so Daniel tried to keep the fish from going downstream in order to catch the rising fish later. When Brian says, "don't you hate it when fish get on the way of your fish" that's what he was referring to. This video demonstrates the effective use of the pause-and-drift technique, which is particularly useful in slower moving water such as this spring creek. Also, pay attention to the landing technique, where I keep my arm close to my body and bring the fish in.

Here’s a good video shot at Mossy Creek, Virginia, demonstrating the effective use of the pause-and-drift technique for tenkara. It also perfectly illustrates how to land a fish with tenkara.
