Hello Tenkara! We were referred to Nathan Wray by Pat Jaeger. Nathan communicated to us before our trip to Hot Creek Ranch about the Tenkara method of fly fishing. My husband watched many of the Tenkara videos while I purchased Daniel Galhardo’s book “Tenkara.” After having purchased two Ito rods, we landed a 17 inch brown beauty within the first 10 minutes on Hot Creek. We appreciate his knowledge, communication skills and passion for Tenkara fly fishing! As far as we are concerned, he is the “Tenkara Master!” Thanks Nathan and thank you Daniel Galhardo!

    • Thank you very much for posting and sharing your experience. Hot Creek is pretty amazing. Glad you got out there, and thanks for taking the time to write!

    Nate,

I’m in my early 70″s and spin fish a lot. I get to the Eastern Sierras about 3 weeks each year. I “know what I am doing” on the water, but am a complete Tenkara beginner. I have an 12′ Iwana, and would like to go with a guide who could get me casting satisfactorily and go after some fish. I fish alpine lakes for brookies more than anything, but also likes streams. What do you offer?

    John
