Here’s an entertaining tenkara video made by Ron Giesecke. He created the video as a submission to the 2014 Fly Fishing Film Tour, unfortunately it wasn’t accepted. Based on the quality of at least half of the videos we saw at last year’s tour we thought this one had a pretty good chance. Well, now you get to watch it ahead of the tour, and for free.

Wonderful parody of fly fishing films…..and also, proof of why we shouldn’t watch them……..well done !
quite entertaining indeed ron. i just watched it twice in row.
Well done, sir! I hope this is a start to a counter-culture, flies-fished-however-you-want-to-fish-them-and-with-your-brain-turned-“ON” film tour movement!
Thank you! Wow! The traffic bump was immediate!
Yeahhhhh, great job, Giesecke Family! I love that Nicole was the creative support! Shall I schedule an autograph signing appointment at Cinemas 14!? …..cant wait for the next one…good to see you guys today! Merry Christmas!
Melissa, totally love the name entered!
After spending the 11 plus minutes watching this is…
Ron Giesecke, I want to fish with you man!
Brian
Wow! That was very entertaining and I’m not into fishing at all. Way to go Ron. Next film, I suggest you use your music!!!! Just my opinion!!!
This is only the beginning of amazing films from a natural born entertainer of the highest sort. Totally talented, gifted man. Honored to have him as our friend. Ron, keep that little go-pro (and your keyboard) busy. We all wait for your next production.
Loved it… nice post….
awesome video, nice one-two punch at fishng, the man card and those…cough….fishing films!!
I liked it am and surprised it didn’t make the cut for the festival. You’d think they’d want to add some cutting edge submissions to the usually cliche and safe (i.e. bland) footage they put out every year. Oh well. Glad it’s out there nonetheless.
I liked it. If the film career doesn’t work out maybe you have a future as a film narrator. Great narrator’s voice.
Great Film. I recently got my Tenkara USA Outfit. After being disabled – I am finally able to fly fish again with Tenkara rods. I found out about it through research for 2 watercolor paintings I did of the Amago and the Masu Salmon.
I also recommended getting rods to Project Healing Waters.
Thom, thanks for the comment in here and for sharing the link. We’re big supporters of Project Healing Waters, they have been using tenkara very successfully.
Daniel, wonderfully brave of you to run this great parody of fly fishing films, making fun of your product and of our silly world. Fly fishers and tackle companies should take a cue from you and make it less serious and more fun.
